Best Indian Restaurant in Flanders (Mt Olive Township), NJ

Great takeout quality food that is always consistent. Their monthly buffet is incredible as well but my only big complaint is that chicken tikka masala isn’t always available. I think I speak on behalf of many customers and we would love to see this item always served at the buffet.

I have tried all the Indian restaurants around the area and this restaurant is hands down the best one. I love their take out. Flavor is spot on and they include sauces and a small dessert with your order. Keep up the good work! Thank you 🙏

I came for lunch and ordered the special. Most delicious Indian food I’ve had in a very very long time. Everything was spiced perfectly and was tender. You can tell it was made with care. Nothing was overly buttered down. Highly recommend the lamb curry and buttered chicken.

12/28/2024 update: Still delicious, beautifully spiced Indian food !!

We’ve tried this restaurant before and I can't remember why we stopped ordering from them in the past but tonight we decided to give them another try because they are close to where we live. I have to say we were pleasantly surprised tonight. The food was perfectly spiced. We ordered all vegan items; vegetable samosas, Chana masala and aloo gobi. All excellent. We didn’t feel stuffed and that heavy feeling afterwards that we usually get from Indian food from another establishment we frequently order from. We have leftovers for lunch tomorrow too. We will definitely be ordering from Taste of India again. Great service while ordering on the phone as well. The lady told us all the vegan choices (which were many) very quickly. It made ordering vegan a breeze!

Food: as an appetizer we started with chili paneer, papadum, and vegetable samosas. The chili paneer wasn’t super spicy, but was delicious. For dinner the four of us split garlic naan, diwani handi, chicken vindaloo, and paneer makhani which were all out of thls world. I really enjoyed the vindaloo and I will never complain about more paneer.

Service: the service was good although our waitress seemed annoyed a bit of the time.

Aesthetic: a lot of seated, nice looking place.

I've been dining in and out for a couple of years now and have yet to have a bad meal! The food is outstanding, and the chef is superb. The curry goat, paneer makhani, and butter chicken are all exceptional. Appetizers like the Masala wings are truly the icing on the cake not counting the incredible homemade desserts. For consistently good service, great value and an exceptional meal be sure and stop in!

Ordered a large amount for delivery and everything was delicious! Not a bad dish in the bunch, super flavorful and cooked perfectly. Even with delivery 20 minutes away everything arrived hot and tasted wonderful. New favorite place!

As someone that can EAT, I was amazed by the fact that they had multiple sampler platters along with a Sunday dinner buffet. Please do yourself the biggest food favor and stop by this place!

5/11/2024: wanted to post an update as I forgot I even posted this review. I’ve been back twice in April and early May and the food has seemingly gotten back to the way it was. And I’m so glad, because the food is delicious. I also revised my rating up to five stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This place is the real deal, best Indian food I have had in NJ. We ordered three nights in a row and everything was delicious and still piping hot on arrival (about 20 mins away). We will be regular customers for sure!

Would highly recommend. The food was very good, the staff was very nice, everything came out reasonable quickly, and it was fairly priced. Would go back!

Service is fast and reliable. If you are new to Indian cuisine, don't be afraid to ask. Food is a bit spicy when it comes to the level of spiciness, medium is plenty for me.

I love this place! Story: I ordered the wrong thing twice because I couldn't remember the name only a short description of how I remembered it. After preparing two separate dished for me(thinking that is what I was requesting) we finally got it right. I felt terrible, my family is super picky so I didn't want to take the other food and the staff not only understood but they did it with a smile and walked what I wanted out to me while I waited in the car. Nothing in life is sheer coincidence and walking into this restaurant is the truth to that statement. I could have picked up lunch at any spot on Rt 206 but I was called to specifically go to Taste of India. Immediately upon my entry I was greeted by a beautiful Ganesha statue and immediately felt at home. The owner of the restaurant was incredibly kind and gracious, the food spoke to my soul. As I was awaiting my food to be prepared the conversation with the owner was authentic and he gave me suggestions of places I should visit. The Malai Kofta and Chicken Somosas made me stop what what I was doing and focus on the experience of eating a nourishing lunch. There was the right amount of all the traditional Indian spices. If you haven't been here-RUN don't walk! I am forever grateful that I was guided to stop in. Thank you to the kitchen staff who conscientiously crafted my meal and thank you to the owner who listened to my sob story. I'm so glad we connected.

My only complain is that it’s not spicy enough when I order items “hot spicy.” I understand though, most people don’t like food that hot. We absolutely LOVE this place. The guys who own it are SO nice and friendly. The food is ALWAYS fire (for those less hip to the lingo-AWESOME) and it’s ready in the perfect amount of time. Gotta love an Indian restaurant that doesn’t recycle its chicken tandoori into the the masala. Thumbs up to all of those who make this fine restaurant work. We go here at least once a month. The food here is fantastic. Tons of flavor and the portions are extremely filling. Just a heads up, I ordered via the DoorDash pickup option and the advertised time you have to wait is incorrect. If you intend to do the same and it seems excessively long, just give them a call and get confirmation on the wait time.

I was not prepared for how delicious this food is! After having moved from Northern Virginia, I wasn't sure I'd be able to get my hands on decent Indian food again. I'm SO glad I was wrong. Every bite is delicious, the basmati rice is perfectly seasoned with cardamom and you can adjust your desired level of spice. I'm looking forward to my next meal at Taste of India.
